UFC 302 Results

While it’s still technically spring for a few more weeks, tonight, Prudential Center in Newark, NJ brings some heat with the UFC holding court in the home arena of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. A packed month of June in MMA kicks off with UFC 302.

Live coverage begins tonight with the early prelims at 6:30 pm ET/ 3:30 pm PT on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass, continuing with late prelims on ESPN2 and ESPN+ and 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT. Main card action wraps up the night at 10 pm ET/ 7 pm PT on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

All told, tonight’s card features a full 12-fight slate.

Main Event

At the top of the bill tonight is a battle for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Current titleholder Islam Makhachev (25-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) meets up with challenger and No. 4 contender Dustin Poirier (30-8 MMA, 22-8 UFC) in what could be the latter’s final appearance. This fight is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close the show.

Co-Main Event

Immediately prior to the title fight, you’ll see a five-round middleweight contest in the co-main event of the evening when No. 1 contender Sean Strickland (28-6 MMA, 15-6 UFC) squares off against No. 7 contender Paulo Costa (14-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC).

Rest of the Card

Also tonight, you’ll see a middleweight fixture between No. 15 contender Kevin Holland (25-11 MMA, 12-8 UFC) and  Michal Oleksiejczuk (19-7 MMA, 7-5 UFC), a welterweight fight versing Niko Price (15-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC) with Alex Morono (24-9 MMA, 13-6 UFC), and a welterweight contest matching Randy Brown (18-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) with Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (24-7-1 MMA, 10-3-1 UFC).
