Rizin 47 Results: Kyoji Horiguchi vs Sergio Pettis 2

Tonight Rizin returns for Rizin 47. The card has fewer matches than the usual numbered show but the matches are all high-level affairs. The main event will see a long-awaited rematch. The co-main event will see two former champs square off. There will be a kickboxing fight. As well, Rizin CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara has said there will be five major announcements made during the show.

Rizin 47 Live Results

Main Event

The main event will see Rizin flyweight champion go back up to bantamweight to take on former Bellator bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis. The two previously fought at Bellator 272 in 2021. It was a hard-fought fight that saw Horiguchi dominate most of the fight. That is until the fourth round when Pettis threw a head kick that Horiguchi ducked and Pettis followed with a spinning back fist that knocked out Horiguchi cold. These two will meet again in Horiguchi’s territory.

Co-Main Event

Two former champions of different weight classes will meet. Former Rizin bantamweight champion Juan Archuleta will take on former Rizin featherweight champion Kleber Koike. Archuleta at the Rizin NYE show missed weight and vacated the title and then lost to Kai Asakura. Koike at the same show submitted Yutaka Saito. This will be Archuleta’s return to featherweight.

Other Fights

The rest of the card is rounded by Spike Carlyle vs Kyung Pyo Kim, Mikio Ueda vs Przemysław Kowalczyk, Johnny Case vs BeyNoah, and a few other fights.
