BJJ superstar Danielle Kelly will make the first defense of her ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling World Championship in U.S. primetime. She will take to the ring in Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Friday, August 2, at ONE Fight Night 24. Getting the first crack at the gold will be Mayssa Bastos.
Kelly won the inaugural title over her rival Jessa Khan at ONE Fight Night 14. The historic night was important for Kelly, but now she wears an even bigger target on her back by wearing the gold. It is a burden she believes she is ready to carry.
Bastos made an impression in her ONE Championship debut at ONE Fight Night 20 in March. The atomweight challenger defeated Kanae Yamada by unanimous decision. Although she did not secure the submission, Bastos showcased her grappling skills and controlled the action.

For those who know Bastos, it did not come as a surprise. She is a nine-time IBJJF World Champion and has won medals all around the world. Now, on the global stage, she has a chance to break out as a global name against the American sensation.
The Philadelphia native has become one of the faces of the sport. But the matchup may be her most demanding to date. This high-level grappling encounter should have a fast pace and excite fans to see who will come out of Bangkok with the belt over their shoulder.
ONE Fight Night 24 airs live on Friday, August 2, from Bangkok. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members based in the U.S. and Canada.
