James Vick has been on the wrong end of some of the most viral knockouts in history. The former ranked lightweight has suffered five knockouts in his MMA career, firstly at UFC 199 at the hands of Beneil Daruish. After this, he went on a winning run of four straight fights and spoke a lot of trash to his next opponent, Justin Gaethje.

Headlining UFC Fight Night 135, Vick was knocked out in devastating fashion just 1:27 into the fight.

After that knockout, he went on to lose a decision to Paul Felder, be knocked out by Dan Hooker and then return to welterweight, where he would be finished via an upkick from Niko Price.

Vick would lose his place on the UFC roster and would clash with Andre Fialho in XMMA. Yet again, Vick would be on the end of a TKO and only the referee stepping in prevented him from getting completely knocked out.

He rebounded and found a little success in Karate Combat after retiring from MMA following his five-fight losing run. He would go 1-1 in Karate Combat before last night all but finished his professional combat sports career.

Taking on former UFC star Rafael Alves, Vick was brutally knocked out in a viral fashion. The Brazilian would land a brutal switch kick flush on the chin of his American opponent, instantly separating him from consciousness. Reports suggest that he suffered seizures and was out cold for up to five minutes, however, further reports have shown that he is being looked after by medical staff.

It’s time for Vick to turn his back on combat sports and think about his long term health.
