ONE Championship has added a flyweight banger to its debut in Georgia. ONE 169: Atlanta hits the State Farm Arena on Friday, November 8. Former ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Adriano Moraes will meet with No. 3-ranked contender Danny Kingad for the first time since 2017.

Moraes had been at the top of the flyweight mountain for a long time, even turning away Demetrious Johnson in his first attempt at the crown. However, Johnson rebounded in style to claim the gold. In their trilogy match at ONE Fight Night 10, Johnson bested Moraes for a second time.

The Brazilian has been absent from the scene since that loss. At ONE 169, Moraes returns to reestablish himself as the top contender for the crown. But Kingad will be out for revenge as he tries to get back in the win column.

Kingad has been a staple in the division for years but has come up short twice in claiming gold. In 2017, Kingad was submitted by Moraes for the undisputed crown. In 2019, he took “Mighty Mouse” to the limit but lost a unanimous decision in the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix final.

In recent outings, Kingad has struggled to get back-to-back wins and has exchanged wins and losses over his last six matches. Moraes will give him an opportunity to bounce back in a major way. A win over the former king would even their series and elevate him in the chase for gold.

ONE 169: Atlanta has a star-studded lineup for one of fall’s biggest events. ONE 169 emanates from the State Farm Arena on Friday, November 8. Tickets for the event are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
