Adrian Lee is ready for his second professional bout on Friday, September 6. The talented 18-year-old returns at ONE 168: Denver for ONE Championship’s second U.S. show. “The Phenom” has already been breaking down film of his opponent to make sure he is prepared his opponent, Nico Cornejo.

“I saw that [Cornejo] is a hard hitter and that he has a pretty good wrestling game, even though he doesn’t have any specific wrestling accolades. Our camp will definitely be centered around countering that,” Lee remarked to ONE.

Lee’s professional debut occurred at ONE 167 in June. The Prodigy Training Center star dominated Antonio Mammarella before earning a second-round finish. However, Lee is unsatisfied and plans to show even more of his skill set inside the Ball Arena.

“I plan to bring into this fight how well-rounded I really am. I plan to show more of my striking, more of my grappling, and more of my wrestling in this fight compared to my last,” Lee flatly stated.

After not finishing in the first round for his debut, Lee will be pushing for a first-round finish against Cornejo. That is part of the family’s ethos in competing. No Lee wants to spend more time in the Circle than necessary.

“I plan on finishing it first round, either TKO, KO, or submission, whatever comes first,” the teen simply said.

Adrian, the youngest of the Lee clan, will be the first to compete professionally in the U.S. Although Christian Lee will defend the ONE Lightweight MMA World Title at ONE 169: Atlanta in November, the younger brother gets to make history first. That is an honor for the young talent.

“It means a lot to me. I’m extremely excited to have my second fight on U.S. soil because me and my family, we’ve never competed on this level stage in the U.S. before. I’m excited to show the American fans what ONE fighters can do. I can’t wait to show all the American fans how truly ahead of the game we are,” Lee commented.

Lee’s drive goes beyond just his own success. “The Phenom” wants to be a flag bearer for ONE. At ONE 168, he wants a standout performance to continue the promotion’s growth in the United States.

“The biggest thing I want out of this fight is just to get in there and really make a statement and to show, especially the American fans, how exciting ONE Championship really is,” Lee said.

ONE 168: Denver airs live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Prime Video on Friday, September 6. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada. Remaining tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
