Rodtang Jitmuangnon is set to defend the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title when ONE Championship returns to Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, November 8, for ONE 169. He will meet a familiar foe, Jacob Smith, as part of the star-studded lineup. One prominent fan is assembling his support behind “The Iron Man.”

Chris Hemsworth, who notably portrayed Thor in Marvel’s cinematic universe, sent along a video message of support to Rodtang. The Aussie actor called Rodtang an inspiration. It is another star who has been captivated by the Thai athlete’s entertaining brand of striking.

“Yo, Rodtang. What up, buddy? [I] just wanted to wish you all the best in your next fight, defending your championship. You’re a warrior, mate; you’re an inspiration. I cannot wait to watch it. Go get it, son,” Hemsworth said.

In May 2022, Smith challenged Rodtang in a three-round affair. No gold was on the line that night. Smith showed himself well and put on an exciting match with the Thai star. Still, Rodtang got his hand raised by a unanimous decision.

Smith has shown himself to be a strong contender within the flyweight division, always putting on a good effort. This challenge will be his toughest to date, with an additional two rounds scheduled against Rodtang in the rematch. Smith’s tenacity and power have the chance to shock the world.

However, “The Iron Man” is being backed by Thor. At an event headlined by hulking heavyweights, Rodtang is set for a huge night where he could steal the show once again. The flyweight title tilt is a stark contrast to other offerings, and it is clearly already capturing the attention of one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

ONE 169 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, November 8. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers based in the U.S. and Canada.
