Khamzat Chimaev DOMINATES Robert Whittaker at UFC 308

Khamzat Chimaev just made a statement in the UFC 308 co-main event. Taking on the toughest test of his career in the former middleweight champion, Chimaev handled Robert Whittaker with ease, submitting the future hall of famer in just 3:34 of the very first round.

Chimaev landed the takedown in a matter of seconds into the first round and dominated from there on out. Transitioning well, he controlled The Reaper for 3:20 of their bout, proving just how well he performed. After a few ground and pound shots, Chimaev locked in a face crank, forcing a quick tap from the Aussie.

Without a doubt, Borz has made a huge statement at 185lbs.

Naturally, the next contender for the middleweight strap would be Sean Strickland. With that being said, a rematch between Strickland and Dricus du Plessis isn’t yet agreed to, however, if both men are smart, it’s the fight that both men will demand. Stickland is certainly an easier fight for du Plessis and as for Strickland, he may have been moved out of the 185lbs title picture.

After such an assertive performance over a highly respected opponent in Whittaker, Chimaev has pushed his way to the front of the queue at 185lbs and very well could see himself in a title fight next!
