ONE Championship will have a World Championship doubleheader to kick off the new year. ONE Fight Night 27 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, January 10, in U.S. primetime. ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Tang Kai returns to defend the throne against Akbar Abdullaev, and Denice Zamboanga meets Alyona Rassohyna for the ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title.

Tang has been a force since arriving on the global stage. The Chinese superstar marched through the featherweight division before toppling Thanh Le to become China’s first-ever male MMA World Champion. Now, he is ready to fully defend his title against a tough Kyrgyz competitor.

Abdullaev has been perfect in his MMA career. The perfection continued in ONE in a major way with three victories, all by finish. To earn the title shot, Abdullaev put the first loss on Halil Amir’s record via knockout at ONE Fight Night 22.

While the featherweight main event has everything to be an explosive end the evening, the atomweights will hit the ring first. #2-ranked contender Zamboanga and #4-ranked Rassohyna look to capture gold for the first time. A win will also send a message to Stamp Fairtex, the current queen who is out due to injury.

Rassohyna already holds a win over Stamp. In 2021, the Ukrainian stunned the Thai star in the final seconds of their meeting via submission and took her to the limit in their rematch. She is a proven threat to the current queen and has the tools to pull off a win at any moment.

But Zamboanga is clamoring for her crowning moment on the global stage. The talented Filipina is enjoying a three-bout winning streak and wants to taste gold for the first time. Her well-rounded skill set will be tested in a five-round war.

ONE Fight Night 27 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, January 10. The action begins at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
