3 Things To Watch At ONE: Full Blast

ONE Championship returns with a previously recorded event on Friday, May 28. The five-bout card entitled ONE: Full Blast will help close out the month of May for the promotion before they embark on a red-hot summer.

3 Things to Keep an Eye on at ONE: Full Blast

The event features three mixed martial arts affairs, a ONE Super Series kickboxing contest, and a featured main event between two top-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai stars. The event looks to provide fans fast-paced action from start to finish.

Are you trying to figure out what to keep an eye on at ONE: Full Blast? Well, let’s jump in and identify the three key things you need to watch when the bell sounds.

Bantamweight Muay Thai Main Event

#1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Saemapetch Fairtex and #3-ranked Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai will finally have their day under the bright lights of ONE.

The two were initially slated to meet in the finals of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament last year, but Saemapetch had to withdraw due to injury. Fast-forward to ONE: Full Blast, and fans will finally be able to witness this clash of Thai superstars.

Adding to the thrill of seeing these two exchange strikes is the fact that a bid to take on Nong-O Gaiyanghadao for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship possibly hangs in the balance. It gives the main event clash even higher stakes.

Whoever can handle the pressure will walk out of the Circle with a victory. Fans of The Art of Eight Limbs will be treated to a massive main event.

Knockout Artists Return

If you love knockouts, then there are two mixed martial arts bouts you’ll want to make sure to check out at ONE: Full Blast.

Featherweight Edward Kelly returns to the Circle to meet Ahmed Faress. The Filipino has finished half of his bouts by KO and always searches for the big bomb. And he’ll get the opportunity so long as he defends the grappling of the Egyptian who has 13 career submissions to his credit.

In the co-main event, China’s Xie Wei brings his 86% finishing rate into the Circle, and each finish has come by way of KO/TKO. He’ll meet the debuting Kantharaj Agasa. Xie will try to put on another outstanding showcase to move back into position to challenge the top-five in the flyweight division.

Both matches are intriguing with a clash of styles, but Kelly and Xie bring the heat for fans of the KO.

Anthony Do’s Main Roster Debut

American Kickboxing Academy standout Anthony Do will step onto the main roster for the first time at ONE: Full Blast.

The catchweight contest with China’s Liang Hui will test the American and find out where he stands as he begins his ONE tenure.

Do brings in a quality resume with a high finishing rate of 86%. He mixes up his striking and grappling well, and he is only expected to continue to improve while training at AKA. When Do steps back inside the Circle on Friday, May 28, fans should expect to see a brand new version of the Californian.

The bout will be the opening contest for the show and give insight into Do’s prospects in ONE as he begins to hit his athletic prime.

ONE: Full Blast airs on B/R Live at 8:30 a.m. EST/5:30 a.m. PST on Saturday, May 28.
