3 to Watch at ONE: Unbreakable II

ONE Championship will present ONE: Unbreakable II, a previously recorded event, on Friday, January 28.

It will be a six-bout event featuring five mixed martial arts clashes and one ONE Super Series kickboxing contest.

The action will be a great way to get your weekend started, but what are the must-see bouts on the bill? Well, let’s take a look at the three bouts you will want to make sure you have streaming when the action begins early in the morning.

3 Bouts to Watch at ONE: Unbreakable II

ONE: Unbreakable II Heavyweight Showdown

The first match of the night is perhaps the can’t-miss bout of the event. Alain “The Panther” Ngalani takes on promotional newcomer Oumar “Rueg Rueg” Kane.

Kane is a Senegalese wrestling champion whose brute strength is awe-inspiring. If he can jump into the heart of the heavyweight division with a win over Ngalani, Kane will be an immediate factor in the title picture.

But the veteran won’t easily be put away. “The Panther” will want to use his superior striking in this striker vs. grappler battle to put himself back in the win column.

This bout is captivating and could steal the show from the outset of the event.

Match of the Night Sleeper

China’s Chen Rui has looked solid in his ONE career, and he’ll try to keep those good feelings going as he takes on South Korea’s Kwon Won Il. The “Pretty Boy” is one of the most exciting talents on the roster and makes his matchup against Chen a potential darkhorse for the card’s best bout.

“The Ghost” will see action for the first time since December 2019. After more than a year away, Chen will showcase what parts of his game have developed as he tries to make waves in the bantamweight division.

“Pretty Boy” has been on a roller coaster in recent outings, but he always brings it. However, a win over Chen would be a feather in his cap as he tries to find the consistency to become a true contender.

Put a pin in this one.

Main Event at ONE: Unbreakable II

Although the optics may favor the hulking heavyweights in the opener, the main event has a more direct impact on the title picture as Mauro Cerilli and Abdulbasir Vagabov.

Unquestionably, the heavyweight ranks are deepening with talent, and this meeting is more proof of that. ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera has no shortage of contenders awaiting him, and with an impressive showing in the main event, either man could lay claim to being next-in-line.

Will the Italian get Europe started on the right foot, or can the Russian pull it out? Heavyweight MMA being at the forefront of the sport is an exciting development. Cerilli vs. Vagabov is another step in the right direction, with talented, exciting heavyweights going toe-to-toe.

ONE: Unbreakable II airs for free from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on the B/R Live app at 7:30 a.m. EST/4:30 a.m. PST.
