The Walkout Consultant: UFC 232 Walkout Songs

UFC 232 Walkout Songs

UFC 232, the final PPV of 2018, goes down this weekend live from The Forum in Inglewood, CA! In the main event, Jon “Bones” Jones will step into the cage for the first time since testing positives for PEDs in a rematch against Alexander Gustafsson. Underneath the pair, all over the card, people are wanting to make a mark with promoters and fans. With uniforms now de rigeur for UFC athletes, one of the few ways they have left to stand out as individuals is with walkout music. Some have a had low-energy entrances. Others just need a boost for their UFC 232 walkout songs. That’s why I’m here. As MMASucka.com‘s resident musicologist, I’m here to offer suggestions that would help these fighters become more memorable as a brand. I’m even doing it publicly, for your entertainment. So, without further ado, here… We… Go!

Jon Jones

What he last walked out to: “God Gave Me Style”/”The Champ Is Here” – 50 Cent/Jadakiss

What he should walk out to next: “I Can’t Feel My Face” – The Weeknd

Jon “Bones” Jone outright asked for someone to pick his walkout song for him. So I’m going to do that. Since JBJ is never going to live down his admissions of cocaine usage, he may as well lean into it. So, to that end, he can drop the 50 Cent/Jadakiss mash-up, and use a song that could be a double entendre for Jones’ usage of the coco, and propensity to knock out opponents. That song is “I Can’t Feel My Face,” The Weeknd’s ode to boogying on the booger sugar. You can hear it below.

Megan Anderson

What he last walked out to: “Bad Moon Rising”- Creedence Clearwater Revival

What he should walk out to next: “Barracuda” – Heart

Megan Anderson’s entrance music for her UFC 225 bout with with Holly Holm wasn’t bad. “Bad Moon Rising” makes for a great walkout song, as Jim Miller has proven throughout his entire UFC tenure. Problem is, though, that Jim is still an active fighter. So that was a fail on the part of the UFC’s music supervision department. So, what’s classic and immediately identifiable that Ms. Anderson can make her way to the cage to? My pick is Heart’s “Barracuda.” You can hear it below.
