The Return of Shameless Part One

Toughness is an attribute frequently used in personal description. Many claim to have it, yet reality begs to differ. In New England, there is one man whose toughness is beyond reproach. That man is Don Shainis.

The New England MMA pro has a story unmatched. Rivaled by only a few.

The Don Shainis Story

On April 14th, 2018, Shainis competed at Cage Titans 38 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It was his fifth professional bout. Like the rest of his career, Shainis was confident going into his matchup set for the card. What happened was something neither he nor anyone else expected. Shainis broke his neck during the fight, leaving his strength output capacity extremely low.

Despite the serious injury, Shainis fought all three rounds. On the scorecards, he fell by way of decision. After the fight, the severity of pain led him to his doctor. From there, things began to snowball.

Fast-forward a year, and the Cage Titans annual April card is nearly upon us (Cage Titans 43 April 6th, 2019). In this year span, a lot happened to Shainis. Yet, Shainis is prepared and ready to make the walk to the cage for the sixth time as a professional on April 6th.

A week removed from the official date of his injury and Shainis is primed to get back into the cage. Check out part one in which Shainis discusses the injury and the timeline of his recovery.
