MMASucka’s ONE Championship: Mark of Greatness Staff Picks

MMASucka staff picks are back after a two week hiatus for the final month of 2019. Tomorrow morning, December 5, ONE Championship: Mark of Greatness will go down from the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event will begin at 5:00am ET (2:00am PT) on various social media platforms with the main card start time at 7:30am ET (4:30am PT) on Bleacher Report Live. Stay tuned to MMASucka Saturday morning for our UFC on ESPN 7 picks.

The Fights

Two kickboxing titles are on the line in both the main and co-main event spot. However, mixed martial arts is most prevalent throughout the card including a bout between rising atomweight stars Jihin Radzuan and Denice Zamboanga. A successful amateur career saw Radzuan make her professional debut in 2017 ultimately signing with ONE months later. Three straight promotional victories including a decision over former title challenger Jenny Huang lead to her first defeat earlier this year; a split decision loss to Gina Iniong. Radzuan would rebound in July with a first-round submission, now ready to climb back towards the top. Her opponent, Zamboanga, looks to keep her undefeated record intact for her ONE debut. Through just her first five fights, she has managed to stop four of those inside the very first round. 22-year-old Zamboanga now sits ready for the biggest test thus far of her career.

Also on the main card sees a bout between Agilan “Alligator” Thani and Dante Schiro at 185 pounds (83.9 kilograms). Monarchy MMA’s Thani hopes to rebound after a recent split decision defeat to veteran Yushin Okami while United States’ undefeated Schiro looks for his fifth win of the non-calendar year.

Action does not stop there as Canada’s Gurdarshan (Gary) Mangat and Australia’s Reece McLaren look to steal the show. See all five fights counted for staff picks at ONE Championship: Mark of Greatness further below.

Staff Picks

Throughout the year, staff picks will be composed of four different MMA promotions: UFCBellatorONE, and RIZIN. Main cards will make up both UFC and Bellator picks, while the biggest fights to make up ONE and RIZIN events will be used. The WINNER of staff picks will have a choice between receiving a championship belt from ProAmBelts or a championship chain from Championship Chains. The 2018 winner was awarded to Michael DeSantis, compiling a record of 202-101.
