Contract Recipients: Danyelle Wolf, Collin Anglin, and Jordan Williams

Jordan Williams def. Gregory Rodriguez via TKO (Strikes) at 2:19 of Round 1

Feedback: The fighters come out and it didn’t take long for Jordan Williams to find the target. He landed a series of lefts and rights that bounced Gregory Rodrigues’ head off the fence and rendering him unconscious. Give Jordan Williams his contract!

Collin Anglin def. Muhammadjon Naimov via Unanimous Decision

Feedback: Collin Anglin landed a spinning back fist and forced a clinch against the fence in the early going. Naimov landed a nice series of knees to the body. Anglin scored a takedown and took Naimov’s back. Naimov escaped and hurt Anglin standing. He landed multiple knees and punches. The round ended with another Anglin takedown. Close round with plenty of action.

Anglin had more success standing in the first half of the second round and landed some solid knees and kicks. Anglin was hit with a low blow but recovered quickly. Much better round for Collin Anglin in round two. Anglin with a takedown and took the back and worked to secure a choke but instead landed some heavy shots from the top. Collin Anglin won the second round.

Crazy third round as both fighters had moments but Collin Anglin had Muhammadjon Naimov out on his feet and landed a series of monster shots. He hit him with big punches and short elbows and Naimov badly, badly hurt. Anglin slammed Naimov down to the canvas and nearly finished him with a choke but couldn’t finish. Naimov swept into top position and closed the round landed some big shots but it was too little too late.

Michael Lombardo def. Korey Kuppe via Unanimous Decision

Feedback: Korey Kuppe fights in a Karate stance and at six foot five, his kicks are dangerous. Lombardo has more power and got inside utilizing a body lock and took Kuppe down. Michael Lombardo landed some big shots, but Kuppe neutralized it was mission control. He’s a tenth planet jiu-jitsu student. Kuppe caught Lombardo with a standing guillotine and nearly got the finish as the bell rang to end the round.

A lot of the second round was spent in the clinch without much happening. Michael Lombardo finally scored the takedown and spent the rest of the round in Kuppe’s guard. Pretty slow round and both fighters are likely seeing any chance of a contract fading away unless something amazing happens in the third round.

Lombardo opened the third round and scored another takedown. We saw more of the same in the third round as we did in the second. Lombardo doing enough to score points and win rounds, but not impressing anyone in the process.

Danyelle Wolf def. Taneisha Tennant via Unanimous Decision

Feedback: Danyelle Wolf made her highly anticipated debut and put her world-class boxing skills on display early and often. She landed straight rights as well as a big left hand. She stunned Tennant but didn’t seem to wobble her or hurt her badly. Tennant tried and failed on multiple takedowns.

Taneisha Tennant was able to clinch Wolf twice but simply was outmuscled and thrown to the side when she attempted a body lock. The fight was halted for a minute when Wolf took a poke to the eye. Tennant had a better round, landing some good kicks. As the round closed, Tennant unloaded and hurt Wolf on a couple of occasions. I’ve got it one round apiece headed into the third and final round.

Interesting third round as both fighters landed some decent stikes. Tennant took an ugly eye poke but was able to continue. Danyelle Wolf sunk a very deep guillotine and had Tennant locked up for two-plus minutes. Tennant was able to escape. A close round could go either way. Wolf will likely score points for the lengthy submission position.

Kyle Driscoll def. Dinis Paiva via Unanimous Decision

Feedback: Dinis Paiva landed a big right hand that resulted in a flash knockdown to open the fight. The fighters exchanged kicks and punches and Paiva fought off a pretty deep takedown attempt. Kyle Driscoll’s second takedown attempt was successful and he momentarily took Paiva’s back. The two finished the round standing. Driscoll controlled enough on the mat to earn the round.

Kyle Driscoll landed a low blow, but after a brief break, Paiva was able to continue. Driscoll landed a very nice overhand right. Lots of single shots thrown but nothing compelling landed from either fighter in the second round. At this rate, nobody will earn a contract. Driscoll controlled the first two rounds.

Somebody had to step up here in the final round if they had any hope of earning a contract with the UFC. That fight just simply hadn’t been very interesting. Paiva landed a big left hand that dropped and hurt Driscoll. Denis Paiva went on the attack and maintained the top position until he was swept with 40 seconds left. Paiva won the round but likely lost the fight. I would venture a guess that neither fighter gets a contract.
