The Golden Cage 3: Damiani vs Saccaro 2 Results

We have your results for The Golden Cage 3. The Golden Cage, Italy’s premier mixed martial arts organisation, makes its first appearance on UFC Fight Pass today with The Golden Cage 3. The organisation will show 11 amateur and 10 pro bouts on its fight card. However, only the pro bouts will be televised on Fight Pass, while the amateur bouts will be streamed on Twitch on the promotion’s official channel. An Italian promotion being streamed on Fight Pass marks an important step in the growth of the country’s fledgling MMA community.

The main event will pit Leonardo Damiani against Marco Saccaro in a rematch, fighting for the vacant Golden Cage welterweight belt. Damiani has only lost twice, once in his pro debut back in 2016 against Leon Ailu, and once in 2018 against the UFC alumni John Maguire. Damiani fights using an active lead hand and feints to keep his opponent at bay before rushing in with a big overhand or a takedown attempt.  Saccaro will be seeking to avenge his loss to Damiani. Four of the heavy-handed Saccaro’s six wins are by KO or TKO.

The fact that footage of the first bout between Damiani and Saccaro at Italian Cage Fighter 5 was not even broadcast shows just how important this new deal is. Their rematch will not only be for a belt but will be available on the biggest channel in the sport.

The vacant Golden Cage featherweight belt will also be up for grabs. Two undefeated fighters will battle for it: the 3-0 Michele Baiano, who won each of his fights by stoppage, and the 4-0 Tunisian Nizar Ben Amara, who comes off of three submission victories in a row.

UFC alumni Danilo Belluardo will be seeking to overturn a streak of losses against former opponent Daniele Miceli. Also fighting on the card will be the undefeated Dylan Hazan, who is a national champion in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling. He will be fighting C. D’Ambrosio.
