Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier seem to be headed for a rubber match. However, this time, the two fighters are taking a much less cordial approach.
Dustin Poirier Accuses Conor McGregor
The back and forth started late Sunday night when Poirier tweeted in response to McGregor’s prediction for the fight after the Irishman predicted a front kick-to-the-nose finish in Round 4.
“That’s a fun prediction!” Poirier tweeted. “You also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January. See you soon.”
McGregor replied soon after with a follow-up tweet seemingly admitting to stiffing Porier’s charity, “The Good Fight Foundation.”
“A donation, not a debt,” McGregor replied. “We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations. Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly. You took the McG over the belt shows I was right.”
Before the famous rematch at UFC 257, in which Poirier upset McGregor by knocking him out in the second round on their January 23 bout, the two fighters took a very charitable approach to their fight. The usual McGregor trash talk seemed to disappear and the fighters both agreed on donation to Porier’s foundation for half a million dollars.

Now the talk has escalated, and McGregor seems to have returned to his usual trash-talking ways.
“You’re ripped you inbred hillbilly. Why do you wink with your ears? You f—ing brain dead hillbilly. 500k with no plan in place. Ye hang tight. Fool,” McGregor said. “You must be new to money. The fight is off btw. I’m going to fight someone else on the 10th. Good luck on your old contract kid.”
Even though McGregor has tweeted that he will fight someone else on July 10, ESPN reported that both men have already signed the contract for the trilogy despite the UFC not having made it official yet.
