Submission Underground 23 Results

Submission Underground (SUG) is back tonight for all the Jiu Jitsu fans out there who love and appreciate those slick submissions. MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with Submission Underground 23 results.

In the main event, elite 10th Planet black belt Kyle Chambers will be taking on SUG champion Mason Fowler for his title. Fresh off the win against Andy Varela at SUG 22, Fowler will look to extend his undefeated record in SUG. Chambers earned his title shot by beating Ben Egli at SUG 22 with a heel hook.

The Submission Underground 23 co-main event brings back tag-team grappling for the third event in a row. New champions Team SAC, consisting of former Bellator featherweight prospect Cris Lencioni and Owen Papworth, will put their title on the line against newcomers Team Toro, featuring former UFC bantamweight Anthony Birchak and Deon Clash.

Elsewhere on the main card, UFC veterans Carlos Condit and Jake Ellenberger will face off. The fighters have fought each other in MMA back in 2009, where Condit won by split decision. Ellenberger is a powerful wrestler with a record of 1-2 in SUG, whereas Condit is new to submission grappling competition. Condit was known for having a very aggressive guard in MMA.

The next challenger for Amanda Loewen‘s women’s SUG title will be determined when Raquel Canuto takes on Gillian Robertson. Canuto, a longtime Invicta FC veteran, makes her SUG debut while UFC flyweight contender Robertson is 1-2 under the SUG banner, including a loss to Loewen last August.

Submission Underground 23 is Sunday, May 23rd, live only on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET/3pm PT.

Follow along with MMASucka as we provide you with Submission Underground 23 results throughout the card.
