MMASucka’s Dana White’s Contender Series 44 Staff Picks

Dana White’s Contender Series 44 is here as the promotion reaches its yearly end with three fight cards remaining in 2021. Tonight’s five-fight card will take place at the usual UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event kicks off live at 8:00pm ET (5:00pm PT) available for ESPN+ subscribers.

The Fights

Ten fighters will make the octagon walk, all hungry and searching for their chance tonight at a potential contract with the UFC.  Welterweights (170 lbs.) Solomon Renfro and Jonny Parsons take the main event spot in a three-round, fifteen minute contest.

Following a successful amateur run, Renfro made the switch to professional competition in 2017. Cage Fury Fighting Championships has been his primary home, having only one loss in his run thus far to Contender Series 42 contract winner Mike Malott last December. Renfro’s opponent, Parsons, hopes to score the upset coming in to tonight as a hefty underdog. The Syndicate MMA Muay Thai specialist has won four in-a-row including a first-round knockout over former Contender Series alum Tyler Hill.

In the co-main event, Valesca Machado and Piera Rodriguez will meet in the strawweight division (115 lbs.).

Caio Borralho gets a second chance tonight at an organizational contract after missing out in his Week Five decision victory over Aaron Jeffrey. Borralho will fight two-time light heavyweight champion Jesse Murray.

Who are the MMASucka staff picking to win for the entire fight card of Dana White’s Contender Series 44? Find out further below.
