Jake Paul disses Claressa Shields ‘Shields is a loser’ after PFL loss to Abigail Montes

Jake Paul just can’t help himself. Claressa Shields was hoping for a her second win in her professional mixed martial arts career Wednesday night during the 2021 PFL Championships. Instead, Shields suffered her first defeat. A split decision loss to Abigail Montes. Shields a two time Olympic gold medalist was hoping to be just as successful in MMA as she has been in boxing. Currently, Shields holds the record for becoming a two and three-weight world champion in the fewest professional fights. Shields is the only boxer in history, female or male, to hold all four major world titles in boxing—WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO —simultaneously, in two weight classes. She is the first woman to win lineal championships in two weight classes. She has accomplished so much in such a short amount of time.

Paul decided to go on the attack. Disrespecting the young legend and comparing her to Ronda Rousey as well as saying ‘Shields is a loser’. He went on to say the ‘fake always get exposed.’ Jake went on to send kind words to Amanda Serrano as well as Abigail Montes.

Getting Under the Skin of Shields

The intention of the post is obvious. Jake wanted to hurt the ego of Shields and what he thinks is her ‘prima donna attitude.’ The message is loud and clear, Jake Paul does not like Shields and he decided to strike her at her low point. Right after her first major loss as a professional.

MMA is not an easy sport by any means. In fact, it might be the hardest sport in the world. MMA is brutal and you have to be tough to compete. But to be good at MMA you need to subscribe to all the parts in order to understand the whole or the entirety. Wrestling, judo, BJJ, faints, foot movement, boxing, knees, elbows the list goes on forever. Shields found out that it is not that easy. Nobody ever said it was.

Jake Paul started the post with three words, ‘I love Karma.’ The truth is what goes around comes around and Jake Paul knows that. Paul so far has gone 4-0 and has yet to suffer a loss as a professional boxer.

The truth is Jake Paul has yet to win a title in boxing. Jake has yet to win a gold medal or even a bronze medal. Jake was also never invited to the Olympics or was he even invited to try out. Jake Paul made his name beating up washed up mixed martial artists as well people he handpicked.

When will Jake’s winning streak end? When will Jake suffer his first loss? That is something we are all watching to find out. If Jake Paul were to lose a fight Shields will be waiting on social media ready to blast him. The truth is Shields lost but she did not lose her bread and butter which is boxing. Her transition to becoming a mixed martial artist was never going to be an easy one. Boxers traditionally do not transition well when becoming martial artists.  Shields is still only 26 year’s old and she has accomplished a lot of as a boxer. Instead of admiring Shields and wishing her the best Jake Paul decided to absolutely trash the former two time Olympic gold medalist.

Paul is the type of guy that speaks his mind and you can’t hate him for that. It is what makes him so polarizing and so likeable yet hatable at the same time. ‘The Problem Child’ has had run his fair share of trouble including run-ins with the FBI at his mansion so this is nothing for Jake.

Support for Shields

Other martial artists like Cris Cyborg took the opposite approach and wished Shields the best.
