Ref cam to debut at UFC on FOX 4

Made famous in the PRIDE organization years ago, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will debut the ref-cam this Saturday night at UFC on FOX 4.

Never before has the UFC utilized the ref cam, but there’s a first time for everything, and from the sound of it, all referees on the 10-fight card will have a small high-definition camera mounted through the button of their shirt.

The news was passed along in a tweet from the official UFC on FOX twitter account.

It is unknown at this time if the ref-cam will be a permanent fixture for all UFC events from now on, or if it is simply for UFC on FOX fight cards.
