In the main event, UFC veteran, Yorgan De Castro (6-3), takes on tenured MMA veteran, Danyelle Williams (8-6-1). Cape Verde’s De Castro resides in Massachusetts and does his training at Regiment Training Center in Fall River. The 33-year-old will make his first appearance outside the UFC in over two years at CES 65. With that being said, he is no stranger to the CES cage as he will make his fourth walk for the promotion tonight. De Castro is known for his vicious power strikes and can put many people’s lights out with one shot. In his six pro wins, he has finished five by knockout, including a first-round knockout over Justin Tafa at UFC 243. De Castro looks to end a three-fight skid and get back in the win column for the first time in over two years at CES 65.
Danyelle Williams looks to spoil De Castro’s return. Williams makes his return to the cage for the first time since 2017. Although he stepped away from MMA briefly, he did partake in quite a few boxing bouts. The Minnesota native does his training at MX Gym Life and Doc’s Gym. In his pro career, 10 of his 14 bouts have gone without the need for judges. At 39 years old, his sights are set on upsetting the UFC vet in his home area.
Co-headlining the card are PFL and WSOF veteran Andre Harrison (21-2-1) and Brazilian finisher Mauro Chalet (14-7), who square off in a featherweight bout. Sanford MMA’s Harrison is realistically a win away from getting the call from a major organization. After struggling to find a fight, he finally returns to the cage for the first time in two years. The 33-year-old makes his promotional debut tonight and looks to make the best of it. Harrison has had quite the pro career so far earning the WSOF, Titan FC, and Ring of Combat featherweight straps. He has shared the cage with Lance Palmer, Movlid Khaybulaev, and Kurt Holobaugh.
The one-man standing in Harrison’s way from a call-up to a major organization is Mauro Chalet. Chalet makes his first walk to the CES cage as well tonight. This will be the Brazilians first fight in over a year and a half as he looks to bounce back from a loss to UFC featherweight Damon Jackson. With that being said, he has won three of his last four. Aside from Jackson, Chaulet has also thrown down with Renato Moicano and Edimilson Souza. This will be quite the high-level fight, so do not miss it.
Some other notable names on the card are CES ve Ashiek Ajim (4-1) and Bellator vets Nathan Ghareeb (4-1) and John Douma (5-2).
