Combate Global 29 Results

Combate Global is set to host its 29th event of the year tonight just outside of Miami in Medley, Florida. MMA Sucka brings you live results of the entire Combate Global 29 card and more.

Headlining the card are UFC veteran Martin Bravo (12-3) and nine-time Combate veteran Jose Estrada (7-2). Bravo makes his second walk to Combate’s patented La Jaula after securing a 69-second TKO win at Combate Global 20 back in September. The 28-year-old’s resume speaks for itself with victories over Andrew Whitney and Claudio Puelles. He has also shared the cage with Alex Caceres and Steve Peterson. It is safe to say Bravo is not a fan of going to the judges’ scorecards, as 12 of his 15 bouts have ended prior to the 15-minute mark. Bravo does his training at Entram Gym in Mexico and is also known for winning TUF Latin America 3.

Jose Estrada might be Bravo’s toughest test outside of the UFC. The 30-year-old California native has fought the entirety of his pro-MMA career with Combate. Estrada makes his way to the cage winning four of his last five, three by way of finish. He earned a decision win back in July at Combate Global 11 over UFC veteran Leonardo Morales. Like Bravo, Estrada tends to not go the distance as seven of his nine bouts have gone without needing the judges’ assistance. This is a battle between two of the best featherweights on the Combate Global roster.

In the co-main event, tenured MMA veteran Stephanie Frausto (8-8) will go to war with Sweden’s Camila Rivarola (3-3-1). Frausto has featured on Dana White’s Contender Series and is also a Bellator and Invicta veteran. After making her pro debut 11 years ago, she feels sharper than ever at age 31. Her resume proves she is willing to step in there with anyone as she has squared off with Luana Pinheiro, Yazmin Jauregui, and Charisa Sigala, not to mention the spectacular finishing ability of Frausto, who has scored seven of her eight wins that way.

Camila Rivarola is absolutely no slouch, is also a Bellator veteran. She has shared the cage with Danni Neilan and Karoline Martins. The Swedish strawweight does her training at Allstars Training Center, which is one of the best gyms outside of North America. Rivarola has a very underrated submission game and has yet to be finished in her MMA career. Overall this will be a tough scrap as both women are quality martial artists.

Also on the card are six-time Combate veteran, Ivan “Choko” Castillo (21-13), Bellator and LFA veteran, Tommy Aaron (9-5), submission specialist Rick Zelada (1-0), and highly-touted prospect Tamika Jones (0-0).
