FAC 11 Recap and Results

FAC closed out 2021 with a show stocked with dazzling prospects, capped off by a battle of UFC vets. Evan Elder, Nyle Bartling, and Isaac Dulgarian all looked perfect in dispatched their respective opponents, setting up an exciting 2022. The promotion announced a return date of February 6th for FAC 12, with Dana White in attendance for Lookin for a Fight- they’ll likely be chomping to be on the card to perform for the boss. Keep reading for a full recap and results for FAC 11.

FAC 11 Recap

In the main event, Oklahoma’s Chance Recountre fought Manhattan, Kansas’, Jake Lindsey in a grappling battle that saw Recountre gaining the upper hand. The battle of UFC vets was slated for two other FAC main events this year, but finally came together at the year’s end.

After a stalemate on the feet, Recountre (16-4) put his wrestling chops to work, dragging Lindsey (15-11) to the ground in the first. Recountre couldn’t get much further than there, however, landing a few short elbows from the full guard before the round ended.

The fight ended quick in the second round when Recountre drug Lindsey back the mat, taking his back and locking in a rear naked choke with only one hook locked in and gable grip. Lindsey quickly tapped, giving Chance his second submission win of the year.

In the co-main event, Evan Elder coasted to a third-round finish over Marcus Andrusia, prompting a call for greater competition and a call from Dana White.

The first round saw Elder (7-0) set up his rhythm, throwing feints and throwing chopping low kicks. Andrusia (9-17) shot multiple times on Elder, but Elder saw them coming and sprawled his way out with ease. While unable to mount any offense, Elder scored two takedowns of his own.

It was more in the second, with Elder beautifully setting up the double-leg with a left hook and spending most of the round on the mat. Moving to side control, he hunted for a shoulder lock, but opted to drop strikes when Andrusia proved too tough to the sub attempts.

After two intelligent, dominant rounds, Evan Elder sealed the deal at the start of round three, hurting Andrusia with a right hook and pouncing to finish with strikes on the ground. The finish came at 1:01 of round three, with the talented Elder climbing to 7-0 and still just 24 years old.

Nyle Bartling notched the most impressive win of his undefeated career when he slammed and delivered his wrath on Anthony Garrett in the first minute of round one. The perfectly-timed double leg under a combination from Garrett (6-6) immediately gave way to the flurry of punches from Bartling (6-0), stopping the fight 42 seconds in. After finishing all six of his opponents, Bartling will look for a big test and potentially a heavyweight belt in 2022.

Massive Midwest prospect Isaac Dulgarian fought the long fight of his pro career, which isn’t saying much. Ray Ostrander (1-2) had zero room for offense against the air-tight wrestling and control of Dulgarian (4-0), who picked up his fourth pro win, capping off a busy and flawless 2021. Dulgarian transitioned to an arm triangle choke at 2:49 of round one, almost immediately forcing the tap from Topeka’s Ostrander.

Dulgarian is ready for a big step up in competition, and if he stays as busy in 2022 as he was in 2021, could be looking at some huge opportunities next year.

Lawrence Fight Club’s Wayman Carter (9-10) outworked Dominic Garcia (5-4) en route to a unanimous nod from the judges. While neither man was able to find much offense, the athleticism of Carter allowed him to take the advantage in key moments. Scoring takedowns in each round, he was able to land just enough strikes to prevent the referee from forcing a standup.

After going 8-0 as an amateur Zach Scroggin (1-0) made a successful pro debut against late replacement Skyler Hicks (0-3). Although tested by the submission attempts of Hicks, Scroggin ultimately squeaked by with two of the three scorecards, landing the bigger shots of the night.

In the opening bout of the night, Tommy Beal (2-0) picked up his second pro win when he tapped Keyth Dawson (2-2) in the first round with an arm triangle choke.
