New matches set for the upcoming Rizin events

At today’s press conference Rizin FF CEO, Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced the next matches set for the upcoming Trigger 2 and Landmark 2 events scheduled for February 23rd and March 6th respectfully.

Rizin Trigger 2 will take place inside the Ecopa Arena in Fukuroi and will be headlined by Kleber Koike Erbst and Ulka Sasaki’s featherweight fight. Sakakibara announced the rest of the card with a lightweight clash between Akira Okada and Takumi Suzuki.

Okada has a 16 – 8 – 4 MMA record and is riding a three-fight winning streak with his latest win being a submission over fellow Pancrase alumni, Daich Abe at Rizin 31. This series of wins serves as his bounce back to the winning column after suffering four defeats in a row.

Suzuki stacked up a 10 – 6 record and is a Pancrase Neo Blood tournament winner in the bantamweight division back in 2016. A Deep veteran who secured his spot in the Rizin thanks to a two-fight winning streak.

Rizin Landmark 2 is set for March 6th in a venue to be announced in the near future. As for today, there are only three fights set, including a featherweight bout with Ren Hiramoto taking on Chihiro Suzuki.

Hiramoto is a K-1 and Krush veteran who sports 11 – 4 professional kickboxing record. He made his MMA debut at Rizin 26, where he lost to Kyohei Hagiwara due to a corner stoppage.

Highly experienced Mamoru Uoi will take on Kuya Ito. In the featherweight weight class matchup, Shoji Maruyama will be trying to find his way back to a winning column after his defeat at the first Trigger event. He will take on a kickboxing star, Hiroaki Suzuki
