Roberto Soldic Interested in Free Agency

KSW Middleweight and Welterweight champion Roberto Soldic has one fight left in his contract and he is willing to try his options as a free agent.

Soldic, who has a 20 – 3 professional MMA record is considered by many as one of the best fighters outside of the UFC. In his recent interview with MMA Junkie, the double champion stated that he and his managers are preparing to talk about his future with Polish promotion. It’s possible that he will continue his tenure in KSW, which depends on the terms of a proposed deal, but he is also willing to fulfill his dream of competing against the world’s best in the UFC.

His contract will be up in July and he will fulfill it by fighting his last fight until then. Then his manager will talk with KSW bosses Martin Lewandowski and Maciej Kawulski. Soldic stated that he wants to test himself against the world’s best and to do so, in his own words, he must be a part of UFC which he compared to the UEFA Champions League.

He fully enjoys his success in KSW, which includes an eight-fight winning streak with victories over such individuals as Mamed Khalidov and Dricsu Du Plessis, and is impressed with the promotion’s popularity in Europe and its’ production value, but he also wants world recognition which only UFC can bring. And in his own words, he achieved the maximum of popularity in Europe.

Soldic is sure that he will fulfill his contract in July and stated that he’s ready to as he sustained no injury during his last fight against Khalidov back in December. On the same card, he was called out by Michał Materla and Ibragim Chuzigaev, who is rumored to be his next opponent.

He laughed at the callouts and said that he himself wants to fight Conor McGregor, but that is unlikely to happen for a long time. He said to his potential opponents to stay in line and to wait for their chance. However, Chuzigaev sounds to him like an interesting choice.

Whether it will be in KSW, UFC, Bellator, or PFL, the Croatian fighter is confident that he can compete against the best. Though many elite fighters lack name recognition it doesn’t make them any less dangerous. Soldic is sure that he will end fighting with whoever the public perceives as the world’s best – in any promotion he chose at either welterweight or middleweight. And even if his training partner Gegard Mousasi tells him that he belongs in UFC, he wants first to sign the proper contract and then give fans exciting fights.
