Josh Thomson vs. Caros Fodor expected at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy

A lightweight tilt between lightweights Josh Thomson and Caros Fodor has been slated for next month’s Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy event.

There has been no official announcement of the bout from Strikeforce, however Thomson announced the fight to Sherdog.

Thomson (19-5) is coming off a very close split decision loss to lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez at Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier back in May. The AKA fighter will look to get back in the win column, as he goes up against Fodor.

Fodor (7-2) who trains under Matt Hume at AMC Pankration is also coming off a loss. His coming to number one contender in the lightweight division Pat Healy, back in March at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey. The former U.S. Marine will look to get back into title contention with a win over Thomson.

Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy is set to go down on September 29 at Power Balance Arena in Sacramento, California.
