EFC Fight Night 2 Preview

EFC is set and ready to have its second-ever Fight Night event. The card was initially planned to have 13 fights, but when Sholto Luiters pulled out of his heavyweight clash against Nico Yamdjie, the night was set for 12 bouts. This Fight Night event, much like the first one, shines a spotlight on talent that may not always be pushed to the forefront. The card provides several potential Fight of the Night candidate match-ups across the board, but all eyes are on the main event of the evening.

EFC Fight Night 2 Main Event – Nkazimulo Zulu vs. Gian Souza

The flyweight division found itself being the focal point of the promotion in 2021, as Luthando Biko and Nkazimulo Zulu had a heated rivalry. Now, the flyweight division has a champion (Biko), and some of the promotion’s most must-see talent belongs to the division. With this fight, Nkazimulo ‘Zuluboy’ Zulu (13-5) takes a step back from the title picture to build himself up and begin a new campaign toward getting the championship. Following recent struggles in his professional MMA career, Zulu recently competed in Muay Thai at Thaiholics Fight Promotions’ Continental Collision event. Now, ‘Zuluboy’ makes his return against an equally hungry opponent.

Brazil’s Gian ‘Patolino’ Souza (7-1) is always ready to make a statement to fight fans around the world. Training with the Pitbull Brothers gym in Brazil, Souza has always been considered one of the most exciting international talents to ever step into the Hex. Souza remained undefeated since his debut in Brazil but suffered his first defeat against Luthando Biko at EFC 86. Having a common foe in Biko, both Zulu and Souza look to prove their dominance in their first clash, in an attempt to work back up to challenging for the 125lbs gold. The battle between Zulu and Souza happens at bantamweight but will serve as the number-one contender’s bout for the flyweight championship. This promises to be an extremely impassioned fight with two highly ambitious fighters giving it their all.
