MMASucka’s UFC Vegas 63 Staff Picks

One week removed from one of the most highly-anticipated fight cards of 2022, the UFC is back with a hot main event for UFC Vegas 63: Kattar vs. Allen.

UFC Vegas 63 will take place later this afternoon on October 29, live from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nev. at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT. The UFC has 11 fights planned for Saturday’s Apex event, which will fall in between an important Bellator card and the much anticipated Jake Paul-Anderson Silva boxing match later in the evening.

Live results for Saturday’s entire UFC card can be found right here at MMASucka.

The Fights

Elite featherweights will take center stage on Saturday evening as Calvin Kattar takes on Arnold Allen in a five-round main event. Both Kattar (146) and Allen (145.5) are on weight for Saturday’s massive 145 pound fight and should be poised to put on a show for fight fans around the world in what is sure to be a Fight of the Year contender.

Kattar is no stranger to five-round striker’s delight main event fights. He most recently went the distance with Josh Emmett, dropping a razor-close split decision to the Team Alpha Male product. Now the star fighter out of New England Cartel will look to keep a pace his English opponent has never felt before. Allen, himself is coming off a first-round knockout of Daniel Hooker in front of his home country on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend. The win gave “Almighty” Allen his first UFC knockout in nine fights with the promotion.

Saturday’s card will feature a co-main event between welterweights Max Griffin and Tim Means. Griffin, 36, appears to be in the prime of his career and will be looking for his fourth UFC knockout over a talented striker in “Dirtybird.” Means, meanwhile, is looking to make one more push toward the UFC rankings at 38 years old.

Other fights of note include unbeaten Waldo Cortes-Acosta making his UFC debut out of the Dominican Republic against embattled heavyweight Jared Vanderaa and Tresean Gore meeting Josh Fremd in a battle of two aggressive strikers. A likely kickboxing fight between Dustin Jacoby and Khalil Rountree will open the main card.

Staff Picks

Staff picks in 2022 will follow the same set of rules from the 2021 season. Throughout the calendar year, staff picks will be composed of main card fights from both UFC and Bellator events. Main card fights and selected preliminary fights will be included for PFL MMA. Dana White’s Contender Series are composed of the entire fight card.

The WINNER of staff picks in 2022 will have a choice between receiving a custom-made championship belt from ProAmBeltsor a chain from Championship Chains. A winner is determined simply by the individual correctly picking the most victorious fighters at the year’s end. Nate Freeman secured his first victory with MMASucka in 2021 with a compiled record 243-136.
