Stamp Faritex Reflects On 2022, Looks Ahead To Superfight Against Anissa Meksen

Stamp Fairtex will kick off 2023 with a massive mixed rules superfight against Anissa Meksen on Friday, January 13, at ONE on Prime Video 6. However, the Thai sensation is not quite done putting a bow on this year. Before the ball drops, Stamp is in reflection mode on another year that saw her take a step forward in her mixed martial arts pursuit.

“My life has been pretty cool this year. First thing first, I had a big chance to face Angela Lee for the World Title. Although I lost, I didn’t regret sharing the Circle with her. I learned a great lesson from that fight. It was a big, good test for me. Plus, with my performance in that fight, I proved the haters wrong. Previously, a lot of people underestimated my MMA skills. I’ve been able to prove myself in fights and make those trolls silent. It was a great year,” Stamp told ONE Championship.

The former two-sport World Champion was able to showcase those skills in a winning effort at ONE on Prime Video 2: Xiong vs. Lee III. Stamp returned after her failed title bid against Jihin Radzuan and showed out in a three-round performance. Stamp picked up the unanimous decision win and set herself up for a monster 2023.

The success has not gotten to her head. Stamp still remembers being found by Rich Franklin as she was hitting pads and maintains that same work ethic today. Since then, she has won the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Championships and has become a mixed martial arts star. Still, the Thai superstar will keep the same attitude and remain humble.

“I’m proud of myself. I have come a long, long way from being an ordinary girl to becoming an idol for many people around the world right now. I’m proud of all my endeavors and efforts to overcome each task in my life until today. But, although I’m famous, I’m still the same old Stamp for everyone. There’s no way I’m acting arrogantly. Everyone in the gym can slap my head like before,” said Stamp.

With 2023 on the horizon, Stamp is hoping to begin her year with a signature victory. The special mixed rules superfight against Meksen will garner a lot of attention as both women are at the top of their game. A win for Stamp would help her cause in all her pursuits as she promises to return to the world of Muay Thai, but it will also keep her on the right path toward another meeting against Angela Lee for the ONE Atomweight World Title.

“The year 2023 would be my ideal year. Of course, I’m going to start the year with a special-rules fight. It will be a great opportunity to write a new page of my own history, to create my own legacy. And it’s a good start to the year,” said Stamp.

ONE on Prime Video 6 will air at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on Friday, January 13. Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada can watch the event live and free.
