Babilon MMA begins 2023 with an event in Żyrardów, a town placed near Poland’s capital city of Warsaw. The fight card will be headlined by the first featherweight title defense by Piotr Kacprzak. Krzystof Mendlewski will try his best to dethrone the reigning champion. There will be six professional and two amateur MMA bouts in total.
Featherweight title fight
Kacprzak is a Babilon MMA mainstay, who also made a single appearance inside the KSW cage. At KSW 68 he was awarded a unanimous decision win over Jose Marcos. Going back to Babilon, he won the vacated championship gold by beating Damian Zorczykowski at Babilon MMA 29. Radom native became the second featherweight title holder after Daniel Rutkowski vacated the strap in order to go to KSW. He has an 8 – 3 MMA record and currently rides a five-fight winning streak.
Mendlewski is also a Babilon MMA mainstay who rides a five-fight winning streak. Most recently he submitted Hubert Lotta in the very first round at Babilon MMA 28.
Rest of the card
It is also worth noting that Said Abdulkadirow will be making his return after a two-year hiatus. He will take on Jose Gomes. Lotta will try to make his way back to the winning column by beating Rafał Marczuk. Bartłomiej Nowak, Konrad Tlałka, Patryk Ożóg, Adam Łazowski, Marcin Frycz and Łukasz Grądzki also will be in the action. As it became customary for the promotion, the fight card will also feature two amateur bouts: Rafał Radosz vs. Filip Kamysz and Łukasz Wardak vs. Michał Wnętrzak.
