Nate Landwehr Looking to Crack Featherweight Rankings With Win at UFC 289

Nate The Train’ Landwehr is back in action this weekend at UFC 289 on the main card as he takes on Dan 50K’ Ige. Landwehr, a man who is never short of confidence is enjoying a good run of form heading into the bout, winning his last three fights, of which two he’s managed to get his opponent out of there before the final bell.

Ige, on the other hand, picked up a crucial victory against Damon Jackson last time out after losing three on the bounce. Granted, those losses were to the elite of the division, but he still needed to prove, not only to himself but to others, that he can hang at 145lbs.

‘The Train’ Journey to UFC 289

Tennessee’s own is coming off a phenomenal set of performances in his last three fights. Having been knocked out by Julian Erosa back in 2021, Landwehr rebounded with a submission victory over the highly touted Ludovít Klein, earning himself a performance of the night.

He then put on a fight of the night-worthy war with David Onama, getting his hand raised by majority decision on the night. This fight in particular showed just how gritty and determined Landwehr is. The back-and-forth battle was all action for 15 minutes, and the victory was hard-fought.

Next up for one of the most exciting fighters on the roster was a fight against Austin Lingo. Landwehr had a lot of success in the fight and consequently took the neck of Lingo in a little under two rounds.

UFC 289

There’s no denying that Dan Ige is a big step up in competition for Landwehr. The Hawaiian native has headlined two fight nights, clashed with some of the best the division has and always comes to scrap., He has a style that makes for a fun fight every time.

Landwehr will recognise the opportunity he’s earned at UFC 289 and expect him to put it all on the line in his typical, fan-friendly style.
