Oktagon 44 Preview

Oktagon 44 is this weekend from one of Germany’s finest cities, Oberhausen, the Rudolf Weber-Arena where fans are treated to a home favorite such as Alexander Poppeck who is one-half of your main event and interim title bout when he faces surging underdog and darkhorse of the card, Pavol Langer.

We have an interim title bout as the main event and a potential barn burner of a co-main event with Bojan Velickovic stepping into enemy territory as he prepares to face heavy hitter and German MMA superstar Christian Jungworth.

But the fun does not stop there when two title contenders prepare to clash with Rafael Xavier eager to show he still belongs in the picture after an upset loss in his last outing leading him into this fight against Mateusz Strzelczyk who is ready to cause yet another upset for the Brazilian born fighter.

Next up we have an Oktagon debut for Andrew Fisher, owner of the MMA gym Team Fish Tank, Fisher has built up an incredibly large popularity within the UK and is known as one of the top coaches in the country. But come fight night Fisher will want to show he’s one of Europe’s best when he fights Ronald Paradeiser in what could potentially be a number one contenders bout with a win for Fisher maybe setting up a title fight in Manchester later this year.

And Oktagon isn’t finished there, with the opener of the main card being Zdenek Povlika taking on Hojat Khajevand to showcase the main card and set the pace for what promises to be a great night of action.

Prelim Action!

Hassan Shaaban vs. Tomas Fiala will open the card on the free fight on the Oktagon Youtube channel. And as running trends are with Oktagon the opening bout is never one to miss.

Following on from the first fight, undefeated German prospect Hafeni Nafuku faces Adrian Kepa who has eleven more fights than his opponent. A win for Nafuku could promise big things in the future with a potential for another Losene Keita type story in the promotion.

The Hitman Hathaway returns after returning to action last October on Oktagon 36. A story like no other, John Hathaway has all the potential to go on and still have a phenomenal career like first expected taking on Lukasz Siwiec.

The Georgian takeover in Oktagon looks to continue with Sofiia Bagishvili facing Jacinta Austin, Antun Racic headlines the prelims facing Nuno Costa an incredibly talented flyweight.
