Soo Chul Kim vs. Leandro Issa for Bantamweight strap at ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings

ONE Fighting Championship has confirmed, via Facebook, that South-Korean Soo Chul Kim is set to take on Brazilian-born Leandro ‘Brodinho’ Issa for the inaugural Bantamweight belt at ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings.

Headlined by a Super-Fight between former DREAM Champion Shinya Aoki and Arnaud ‘The Game’ Lepont, ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings is set to go down on October 6th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

Kim and Issa crossed paths earlier at ONE FC’s debut ‘Champion vs. Champion’ event, with the latter walking away with a unanimous decision victory on that occasion. Unbeaten in his last 7 professional fights, ‘Brodinho’ was last seen at ONE FC 4: Destiny of Warriors where he grabbed a decision over Japanese superstar, Masakazu Imanari. The 28-year-old will be one of the many fighters representing Evolve MMA on October 6th.

Soo Chul Kim, in the meantime, opened up his career with a 4-1 record before hitting trouble in paradise with the promotion. Just 20-years-old, the South Korean is 1-2 in his stint with the Singapore-based organization thus far, and has a resume that includes fights with the likes of Gustavo Falciroli, Andrew Leone and Kevin Belingon. Kim recently snapped his 3-fight losing skid in June, and has now won 2 fights on the trot.

As it stands, here’s the updated fight card:

  • Eric Kelly vs. Honorio Banario (Not Officially Announced – Inaugural Featherweight Championship)
  • Leandro Issa vs. Soo Chul Kim (Inaugural Bantamweight Championship)
