Then, CFFC lightweight champion Cedric Gunnison will put his title on the line against veteran Robert Watley in a fight you will not want to miss.

Fight fans can catch CFFC 122 streaming live on UFC Fight Pass for the main card beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The prelims will be shown on the company’s OnlyFans account (@cffcmma) for free beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

USA Today/MMA Junkie columnist John Morgan and former AEW world champion CM Punk will have the call.

CFFC Lightweight Championship — Gunnison vs. Watley

Thursday’s card is being built around Cedric Gunnison, a budding star in CFFC who returned to the promotion in March to take a split-decision victory over Zulkarnaiyn Kamchybekov. After moving to Ring of Combat in 2021, Gunnison put his stand-up skills on full display with knockouts over Lenny Rufati and Nick Rodrigues. At 6-1, “The Gunman” is still finding his identity in the cage, though he did post a 7-0 record as an amateur and any victory over Kamchybekov — even a split decision — is something worth celebrating.

He’ll be taking on the seasoned Robert Watley, who is 13-3 as a pro and no stranger to title fights. He is the former LFA lightweight champion, defeating Thiago Moises in 2017 to win the belt before defending it twice prior to signing with PFL. His PFL run yielded mixed results, though his two defeats came at the hands of perennial contender Chris Wade and former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks, who has also competed in the UFC. Watley is now set to meet a new challenge in Gunnison, and the 33-year-old hopes to impart some wisdom on the young prospect by way of adding another belt to his collection.

Oddsmakers currently have Watley as a slight favorite at around -137 on most sportsbooks, while the champion Gunnison can be had at around a +107 underdog price tag.

Vacant CFFC Flyweight Championship — Findley vs. Dorzhiev

The CFFC flyweight championship will be up for grabs between two talented up-and-coming 125’ers. Findley is riding high off the back of a six-fight winning streak between five different promotions, though his last two victories have come inside the CFFC cage. He knocked out Will Spann in quick fashion at CFFC 119, and will be looking to do the same to his Mongolian opponent Dorzhiev, a man who has never been beaten, let alone knocked out cold.

While Findley is 6-1-1, Dorzhiev is a perfect 7-0 with four knockouts on his resume. The Mongolian trains out of Evolve Gym in Moscow, Russia, where he is the star prospect in the gym. He has competed all over the world, appearing once in BRAVE CF before heading stateside to take on Keaneo Moyer at Anthony Pettis FC 4. He knocked Moyer out in just 23 seconds in what was his first action since 2021. Fight fans will hope to see more of the 29-year-old in 2023 and beyond, and a victory over Findley with championship ramifications in play could put him on the cusp of signing with a major promotion.

Rest of the Card

Filling out the main card is are three more action fights, one of which will be contested between Hugh Pulley and Bryan McDowell at 170 pounds. The 34-year-old Pulley has had an up-and-down career, but is coming off a win over Collin Lubberts back in April and will try and make it two-in-a-row for the first time since 2014. Also on the main card, Max Quinones is set to take on Tyler Howell in a battle of unbeaten flyweights. The show will feature an opener of Brandon Lopez taking on Julio Cesar Chaves (no, not THAT one, or his son). Lopez is looking to avoid to dropping to .500 while the Brazilian Chaves looks to stay above .500.
