From the T-Mobile Arena in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, Alexandre Pantoja will attempt to notch his third successful title defense against a debuting Kai Asakura at UFC 310. Before that, however, a pair of undefeated 170-lb. titans collide, as renowned finisher Shavkat Rakhmonov locks horns with Irish striking specialist Ian Machado Garry. Live coverage begins at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT on ESPN+ with the undercard before moving onto the main card at 10 pm ET/ 6 pm PT.
Main Event
Stepping in to fill the headlining spot on the card following welterweight champion Belal Muhammad’s withdrawal, Pantoja (28-5 MMA, 12-3 UFC) meets perhaps the strongest test of his career in Japanese MMA colossus Asakura (21-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Dropping down to the 125-lb division in seven years, the former Rizin bantamweight king looks to make a statement in his first UFC bout.
Co-Main Event
Previously booked in a championship matchup opposite a now recovering Muhammad, Rakhmonov (18-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) now finds himself in a highly-anticipated title eliminator against arguably the number one striker in the weight class. For the streaking Machado Garry (15-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) however, he finds himself taking on an opponent who not only is equally unblemished in his professional career, but also possesses one of the best finish rates in the entire sport.
The Rest of the Card
Other notable fights include:
- Former Interim Heavyweight Champion Ciryl Gane (12-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) fighting Alexander Volkov (38-10 MMA, 12-4 UFC)
- Talented BJJ black belts Bryce Mitchell (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) and Kron Gracie (5-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and gutsy featherweight contender Nate Landwehr (18-5 MMA, 5-3 UFC) duking it out with Doo-ho Choi (15-4-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC)
- Also, 205-lb standouts Dominick Reyes (13-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) and Anthony Smith (37-20 MMA, 13-10 UFC) vie for their place in the rankings
- Previous bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling (24-5 MMA, 16-5 UFC) settles a long-awaited grudge match with undefeated Russian grappler Movsar Evloev (19-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC)
- Flyweight prospect Joshua Van (12-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) aims to secure his place within the top 15 over Cody Durden (17-7-1 MMA, 6-5 UFC).
