Before that, however, a pair of undefeated 170-lb. titans collide, as renowned finisher Shavkat Rakhmonov locks horns with Irish striking specialist Ian Machado Garry. Stepping in to fill the headlining spot on the card following welterweight champion Belal Muhammad’s withdrawal, Pantoja (28-5 MMA, 12-3 UFC) meets perhaps the strongest test of his career in Japanese MMA colossus Asakura (21-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Dropping down to the 125-lb division in seven years, the former Rizin bantamweight king looks to make a statement in his first UFC bout.

Previously booked in a championship matchup opposite a now recovering Muhammad, Rakhmonov (18-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) now finds himself in a highly-anticipated title eliminator against arguably the number one striker in the weight class. For the streaking Machado Garry (15-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) however, he finds himself taking on an opponent who not only is equally unblemished in his professional career, but also possesses one of the best finish rates in the entire sport.
