Ennahachi vs. Petchtanong, Cerilli vs. Grishenko Bolsters ONE 171 Card

ONE Championship is bringing heavy action to Qatar on Thursday, February 20, with ONE 171. Two title tilts have already been announced, but the organization continues stacking the card with high-stakes action. With bantamweight kickboxing gold on the line in the main event, two contenders will collide earlier in the night to try and become next in line.

High-Stakes Kickboxing Fight During ONE 171

Former ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Ilias Ennahaci will meet former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Petchtanong Petchfergus in a clash of contenders during ONE 171. Ennahaci currently ranks #2 in the official ONE athlete rankings, with Petchtanong slotting in at #3. The winner of this contest at ONE 171 will emerge primed for a title opportunity.

Petchtanong returned last June against Alaverdi Ramazanov at ONE Friday Fights 68. Any questions about ring rust were put to rest with a second-round TKO showing by the Thai star. The former divisional king will try to establish his dominance again, pushing his win streak to four on the global stage.

Ennahaci remains unbeaten in ONE competition after returning in February 2023. He scored a KO over Aliasghar Ghodratisaraskan and followed it up last September in a three-round thriller with Hiroki Akimoto at ONE Friday Fights 81. One more win would unquestionably make him the top threat at bantamweight.

Heavyweights Step Into Action in ONE 171

More action was revealed for ONE 171. In heavyweight MMA action, two hulking athletes will try to gain momentum to get to the top of the division. Mauro Cerilli and Kirill Grishenko meet as both men hope for back-to-back wins in ONE.

Grishenko defeated Kang Ji Won last July at ONE Fight Night 24, turning away the heavy-handed South Korean talent. In the Italian’s last outing, he pummeled Paul Elliott at ONE Fight Night 14. The heavyweight showdown during ONE 171 should set the stage for the winner to re-enter the contender discussions.

ONE 171: Qatar emanates from the Lusail Sports Arena. The action will be live on Thursday, February 20. Stay tuned for more announcements at MMASucka.com.
