DWCS 78 Weigh-In Results: Bantamweight Exceeds Nontitle Maximum Monday

DWCS 78, the second episode of season nine of Dana White’s Contender Series, is almost here. Earlier this morning out in Nevada, the 10 contestants due to vie for a UFC contract on tomorrow night’s event tipped the scales for the official weigh-in window.

The schedule for DWCS 78 is back to normal with the end of The Ultimate Fighter’s 33rd season. Effective tomorrow night, every episode for the rest of the 10 weeks on Contender Series will be seen at the usual airtime of 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT.

Inside the United States of America, DWCS 78 is accessible via ESPN+, whereas it’ll be shown over UFC Fight Pass internationally. Heading into the second week of the season, can anyone in upcoming episodes match the success of Baisangur Susurkaev from week one of the show?

Louis Lee Scott Comes in Heavy at DWCS 78 Weigh-Ins Monday

While the answer to the above question remains to be seen, all fighters face a common opponent prior to even getting to the fabled Octagon, that, of course, being the scales the morning before. Although last week’s weigh-in window went according to plan, this week’s weigh-in window wasn’t as lucky.

There was a single miss on the scales at the weigh-ins this morning. Bantamweight Louis Lee Scott (136 1/2 lbs) exceeded the division’s nontitle maximum by half of a pound at the hotel. Initially, he weighed in at 137 1/2 lbs

Scott’s adversary on the other side of the cage, Kaushik Saikumar (135 1/2 lbs), weighed-in half of a pound below the contracted maximum. This fight is expected to proceed as planned, with Scott ceding some of his wages to Saikumar.

DWCS 78 Main, Co-Main Events Locked In as of Monday Morning

Fighters in your main event of the evening had no issues on the scales earlier today. Both Manuel Exposito (145 1/2 lbs) and Jose Delano (145 lbs) came in within the 146-lb nontitle maximum at featherweight.

The co-main event in the bantamweight division is also cleared for takeoff with the Monday morning weigh-ins for DWCS 78. Brandon Holmes (184 lbs) came in one pound under championship weight, while his opponent Cam Rowston (185 lbs) was on-target today.
