UFC 320 Post-Event Facts: Champ Keeps Stacking Amazing Company Records

UFC 320 proved to be a blockbuster event, with one of the sport’s biggest stars reclaiming his place as the face of the promotion after a dazzling performance. In the main event, Alex Pereira conquered his divisional nemesis Magomed Ankalaev with a thunderous overhand right to score the light heavyweight belt in an all-time classic comeback.



In the penultimate match of the card, bantamweight apex Merab Dvalishvili bested perennial contender Corey Sandhagen with a blowout unanimous decision. 

Now, here are some interesting post-event facts from the main card of UFC 320.

UFC 320: Joe Pyfer def. Abusupiyan Magomedov

Pyfer’s UFC 320 win over Magomedov is his third consecutive victory. It’s also the fourth submission triumph of his professional career.

He is now 6-1 in the UFC after joining to promotion in 2022.

Magomedov’s UFC 320 tapout loss to Joe Pyfer served as the first submission defeat of his professional tenure since 2013. It also snapped his previous three-fight winning streak, which included wins over Warlley Alves, Brunno Ferreira and Michel Pereira

He is now 3-3 in his last six contests. 

UFC 320: Youssef Zalal def. Josh Emmett

Zalal’s submission victory over Emmett is his eighth win in a row. He is now on a nine-fight unbeaten streak, winning five of his last six scraps by submission. 

It’s also his second victory over a ranked featherweight contender since rejoining the company in 2024.

Emmett’s UFC 320 loss to Zalal was his second consecutive defeat and also the second defeat of his professional career by tapout. 

He is now 1-4 in his last five bouts.

His win over Khalil Rountree Jr.  is his second straight win. It ‘s also his 28th victory by strikes.

He has now won his last 14 tilts by stoppage, with the last time he has seen the scorecards coming all the way back in 2016.

Roundtree Jr.’s knockout loss to Jiri Procházka was his fourth professional defeat by strikes. He is now 3-2 in his last five contests. 

Additionally. Rountree Jr.’s UFC record now stands at 10-7 with one no-contest.

UFC 320: Merab Dvalishvili def. Cory Sandhagen

Dvalishvili’s UFC 320 win over Cory Sandhagen was his 14th consecutive victory and his 13th at bantamweight.  It also was his third title defense after previously beating Umar Nurmagomedov and Sean O’Malley in a rematch.

He set a new UFC record for most takedowns in a promotional title match with 21. His scrap with Sandhagen marked the third time in his UFC tenure that he recorded over 100 strikes

His loss to Merab Dvalishvili is the second time he has come up short contending for a UFC championship since falling to Petr Yan for the interim bantamweight strap at UFC 267. It’s also his first defeat since besting former flyweight king Deiveson Figueiredo back in May.

He is now 2-2 in his last four fights.

Pereira’s win over Magomed Ankalaev made for his 11th career victory by knockout. In addition, it’s his first first-round finish since previously starching Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 last year.

His appearance at UFC 320 was his sixth title bout in a row since first earning the light heavyweight belt back in 2023 at UFC 295.

Ankalaev’s loss to Pereira marked his first defeat since tapping out to Paul Craig in his UFC debut back in 2018. It was the first knockout loss of his professional career.

He had formerly embarked on a 13-fight unbeaten streak. Ankalaev is now 1-1-1 in organizational championship contests.
