BKFC 86 is almost here. The long holiday break of no shows is over for David Feldman’s promotion and the fights are back on starting this weekend. Saturday night, Uncasville, CT’s Mohegan Sun Arena serves as the setting for the organization’s first show of the year.
Following BKFC 86 on Saturday, the promotion will return to Philadelphia on the eve of this year’s Super Bowl for the sixth KnuckleMania event. More on KnuckleMania VI when the time comes.
Ahead of Saturday night’s card (main card 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT, DAZN after prelims at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT), the final exercises before the battle took place at Mohegan Sun earlier tonight with the ceremonial weigh-ins of BKFC 86. As you might expect if you’ve watched BKFC events for any length of time, tonight’s ceremonial weigh-ins got a little bit spicy.
Julian Lane, Dustin Pague Shove On Stage at BKFC 86 Weigh-Ins
During Friday night’s ceremonial weigh-ins for BKFC 86, Julian Lane (163 1/4 lbs) and Dustin Pague (162 lbs) each came within the title fight target for their welterweight showdown in the main event of the evening. When the time came to face off for the cameras on the eve of the card, the combatants couldn’t resist getting in some shoves for the audience.
Security was quickly in place to break up the scuffle before it became too ugly. From there, Lane and Pague were able to laugh it off as though nothing had happened.
When interviewed after the scuffle, Lane simply said, “I prayed that I didn’t have to kill him, but I guess I’m going to have to (expletive deleted) kill him.”
Jamel Herring Makes Weight Without Issue for Bare-Knuckle Debut at BKFC 86
There were no fireworks, however, for the faceoff of the evening’s co-main event at bantamweight. Jamel Herring (134 1/4 lbs) squares off with Matt Guymon (134 3/4 lbs) in the co-main attraction.
When those two had their photo-op, it was a friendly exchange of chuckles between them.
