Zuffa Boxing 01 is set to take place this Friday night, January 23rd live from the newly named ‘Meta Apex’ in Las Vegas. It marks a huge date in the boxing calendar with the first ever Zuffa Boxing event kicking off what could be a major player in years to come.
Founded by UFC president, Dana White, the event will be headlined by a favourite of Whites, Callum Walsh. The 15-0 Irish-born US native will meet Mexico’s Carlos Ocampo, who boasts a 38-3 record.
As presumed, Zuffa Boxing will focus on bringing through younger talent and that is exactly what Zuffa Boxing 01 will showcase with the likes of 17-0, 23 year old Cain Sandoval competing, as well as 22 year old Austin Deanda.
Zuffa Boxing made headlines last week when they signed cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia to their roster of fighters. Opetaia is undefeated at 29-0 with 23 knockouts. He’s the defending BF and The Ring champion and is possibly the most dangerous cruiserweight on the planet today.
Zuffa Boxing 01 Ticket Prices
Let’s not forget that Zuffa Boxing 01 will be taking place in the Meta Apex. The fan experience isn’t the same as that of a stadium show, nor is it the same as a small hall event, such as in the iconic York Hall in London.
Ticket prices would have you assume, however, that this is the most elite level of boxing. Tickets from $541 are available, with a staggering price of $1321 to sit ringside.
It’s worth noting that UFC 324 takes place the day after at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, headlined by a guaranteed banger between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett.
