Striker Eyes Shot at Title After Brutal Knockout at ONE Fight Night 39

Thai striking sensation Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon authored a signature performance, as he knocked out Russian standout Abdulla Dayakaev in the second round of the ONE Fight Night 39 main event on Friday, January 23, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 22-year-old, who trains at Superbon Training Camp, revealed that his pre-fight game plan specifically focused on body attacks, having previously identified a glaring hole in the Dagestan-born fighter’s armor. That victory also earned him a US$50,000 performance bonus.

With that win, Rambolek declared his readiness to challenge Dayakaev’s teammate, ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane, for divisional gold. He also revealed that he approached the reigning titleholder backstage to express his championship intentions.

Thai Contender Rambolek Celebrates Successful Game Plan

Reflecting on his main event victory, Rambolek expressed relief that his preparation produced the promised outcome. The Superbon Training Camp product emphasized satisfaction that his game plan proved effective against a dangerous opponent riding his own four-bout winning streak.

“I’m very happy, and it’s such a huge relief that I am able to win and able to achieve whatever I promised today. The plans that I had planned also worked, so I’m very happy,” Rambolek said.

His five-bout winning streak following the explosive knockout highlights consistent finishing ability against increasingly difficult opposition.

Rambolek Details Body Shot Strategy

The Thai revealed that through extensive preparation, he identified body shots as an unexploited weakness in Dayakaev’s defensive game. Rambolek expressed pride in discovering and executing a finishing strategy that previous opponents failed to implement successfully.

“I said that I spotted his weakness, and the fans saw it on the ring, and I was able to show that his weakness was the body shot, because I studied his fight, and I did not see anyone [who] was able to throw the body shot against him before. Maybe it’s not the best knockout, but it’s the knockout I am most proud of,” Rambolek explained.

Dayakaev entered the contest with six finishes across nine promotional appearances, establishing himself as one of bantamweight Muay Thai’s most dangerous knockout artists. The Russian’s aggressive boxing style and world-class training under the eye of Mehdi Zatout provided a formidable challenge for the Thai contender.

Discussing his title aspirations, Rambolek confirmed his readiness for an immediate title shot while revealing he personally approached Anane backstage following his victory. The Thai contender expressed confidence that their potential matchup would produce entertaining action for Muay Thai fans worldwide.

“I am ready if the opportunity presents itself. I think it’s time. I ran into him already today, and I already said hi to him. I told him I wanted to fight him, and yeah, I think it would be entertaining if I got to fight him,” Rambolek said.

A potential title clash would feature compelling stylistic questions, as the Thai’s technical excellence and improved boxing game would collide with Anane’s gargantuan size and technical excellence. The winner would establish themselves as the division’s undisputed king while the loser faces the difficult challenge of rebuilding toward another opportunity.
