Michael Kuiper will now take on Caio Magalhaes at UFC on FX 7, as Thiago Perpetuo has been struck by the injury bug.
UFC officials announced the new match-up on Saturday.
Kuiper (12-1) most recently defeated Jared Hamman at UFC 150 back in August, prior to that he lost his first professional MMA fight in his UFC debut against Rafael Natal.
Magalhaes (5-1) was undefeated coming into the UFC with five straight wins. However, in his UFC debut at UFC on FX 3 in June, he lost a decision to Buddy Roberts.
UFC on FX 7 is set to go down on January 19, 2013 from the Ginasio Estadual Geraldo Jose de Almeida in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main event will feature two of the UFC’s top middleweights as Michael Bisping takes on Vitor Belfort. Also announced for the Brazil card are C.B. Dollaway vs. Daniel Sarafian , Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ben Rothwell and Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Thiago Tavares.
