Randy Couture signs multi-year deal with Bellator MMA on SPIKE TV

The former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Randy Couture has reportedly signed a multi-year deal with Bellator MMA on SPIKE TV.

According to SI.com, Couture will become a coach on Bellator’s new reality series.

Couture has signed into a multi-year deal with Spike TV, a property of Viacom, to appear in multiple projects for the cable channel, as well as other possible ventures within the media conglomerate’s family of networks. As a part of the multi-faceted agreement, Couture’s first role will be as a coach in the forthcoming Bellator MMA reality Series, which begins shooting in February and airs later this year.

This is not the first time Couture has strayed away from the UFC. In 2007 he announced that he would sever all ties with the organization for various reasons. He also was featured on the cover and as a playable character in EA MMA, which the UFC had no part of.

SPIKE TV will hold a press conference on Tuesday February 5 with Viacom Execs, as well as Couture to announce the deal and go over what it will entail.
