UFC returns to Boston for launch of FOX Sports 1 on August 17

Earlier this month it was announced that the UFC would be part of the launch of the new FOX Sports 1 network on August 17. Well now they have the venue in which the first event will be held.

UFC President Dana White announced on Friday that it will go down at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass.

FOX Sports 1 (FS1) is currently airing as the Speed Channel and will be available to over 90 million homes.

There are no fights announced yet for the event, but as White said it is going to be “SICK.”

FOX Sports 1 will air six events in 2013. After the inaugural launch on Saturday August 17, supposedly four of the events will be broadcast on Wednesday nights and one overseas show is expected to air on a Friday evening.

In 2014 the network is expected to air a total of 12 events with all of the cards airing on Wednesday nights.
