Ross Pearson proves his worth and TKO’s Ryan Couture

Ross Pearson didn’t think Ryan Couture was on his level when asked about his opponent in pre-fight interviews, and made it his mission to prove it Saturday.

The first round didn’t go the way Pearson wanted it to and Couture was able to control him with clinch work not much different than what his father, Randy Couture, made famous. “The Real Deal” found his range late and finished the round strong.

In the second Pearson used his tricky foot work and head movement to find an opening with some great combinations which ended up dropping Couture and eventually forced the referee to stop the fight.

Pearson said in his post-fight speech that he thinks he broke his foot on the first kick of the fight, but that didn’t seem to change the outcome.
