MMASucka Product Review: Reign “Combat” Series Gel QuickWrap™ Gloves

I saw a picture of Chael Sonnen training with Reign “Combat” Series Gel QuickWrap™ Gloves in preparation for Jon Jones at UFC 159. It was the first time I had ever heard of these wraps, and I thought to myself, what a great idea! Reign Full Contact was nice enough to send me a pair to try.

I’m just an average guy who doesn’t train on a regular basis, but I’m slowly trying to get back into the groove. One thing I always had trouble with was wrapping my hands, and not only that, they would always come loose. If you are like me, you can’t afford to break your hand or wrist while sparring with some young kid who wants to take your head off.

Reign Full Contact was nice enough to send me some gear to try out. If you have never heard of Reign Full Contact, make sure to follow them on Twitter, Facebook and check our their website Reignarmy.com. They are a Canadian company located on the Island in beautiful British Columbia. Over the last few years they have been working hard to come out with quality gear for the professional fighter and the recreational sparrer.

lSCHB20l4w-h3c7k9osWFOzJBrUymSHvrZZNgiH4uQUMMASucka.com’s JP Lasaleta invited me to train with him at Titan MMA (10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu) in Coquitlam, British Columbia and I had an opportunity to try the Reign “Combat” Series Gel QuickWrap™ Gloves. When I first put them on they seemed rather tight, but what I liked immediately was the gel protection around my knuckles and the support around the wrist. They are very easy to put on and all you have to do is wrap it up with the Velcro.

When I put my hands into some white Reign Battle Series Boxing Gloves, my gel wrapped hands fit perfectly. Although the gel wraps were initially tight when I put them on, they became more comfortable as I started to work up a sweat, which was like the first five minutes of warm up.

There really isn’t much more to say about Reign’s Gel wraps. They do pretty much what you expect them to. They fit nicely around your hands, they protect your knuckles, and they are not bulky inside of  boxing gloves. So if you are an average guy who likes to train, or a pro fighter like Chael Sonnen, give these gel wraps a try.

Overall I definitely recommend these. They are great quality, and so much better than sitting around trying to wrap your hands with cotton wraps. Some will prefer the old school way of wrapping, but others will appreciate the convenience, comfort and protection of the Reign “Combat” Series Gel QuickWrap™ Gloves.

Make sure to look Reign up on Twitter, Facebook and check our their website Reignarmy.com.
