Nick Catone vs. James Head fight scrapped from UFC 159 card

A welterweight match-up between Nick Catone and James Head was expected to take place on the Facebook portion of the UFC 159 fight card, however it has now been pulled.

UFC officials announced on Saturday that Catone was pulled from the card following a trip to the hospital for dehydration.

At Friday’s weigh-ins, Catone tipped the scale at 173-pounds and instead of taking the extra couple of hours, he was fined 20 percent of his purse. The fight was expected to go on as planned.

Catone (9-4) was in a must win situation after dropping his last two fights to T.J. Waldburger and Chris Camozzi.

UFC 159 will now go on with 11 bouts.
