Josh Barnett knocks out Frank Mir in the 1st round

It was somewhat controversial, and the fans were booing at what was a quick stoppage by the referee for the Josh Barnett-Frank Mir co-main event fight.

The former UFC Heavyweight champion was landing some vicious strikes against Frank Mir up against the cage, before executing a well-timed knee that knocked Frank Mir out cold. But Mir got back to his feet immediately, and protested what seemed as a good and legitimate stoppage by the official.

Whatever it is, “The War Master” has now won two straight bouts.
