WSOF 5 Preliminary Results, Quotes and Scorecards

Neiman Gracie def. Darren Costa at 3:57 of Round 1 by arm bar:

“Very happy to be here. This is a dream, since I was a kid I always wanted to fight and finally I’m here.”

(Were you surprised he tried to wrestle you, being a BJJ black belt?)

“Not surprised. I saw his fights before. But (to Darren Costa) thank you for trying to wrestle me.”

Ozzie Dugulubgov def. Andrew Osborne at 1:12 of Round 2 by Achilles lock:

“Victory comes only from God. If you truly believe, your thoughts become your actions. I wanted to show my standup, try a little bit of new things here and there, but I knew if the fight went to the ground, I have much more opportunity there. When it went down, I saw [the submission] was there, and with confidence, I just went for it. Thank God it worked.

“I have one of the best teams in the world, one of the best teammates, one of the best coaches. We work in every aspect of this game, standing up, ground, hands, kicks. So every time I’m coming into a fight, with God willing I’m prepared for any situation that this fight takes me. That’s how it is.”

Rich Patishnock def. Gregor Gracie by unanimous decision

“That was my strategy. I really didn’t think I did that well with my strategy, but that was my strategy, and I’m glad everybody thought I did it.

“I wasn’t surprised at all. I thought that’s what he would come out and do, as opposed to his brother. I thought Gregor was more of a striker to go for his takedowns. I was actually surprised he tried to take me down without trading first.”

Jimmie Rivera def. Sidemar Honorio by unanimous decision

“It’s about pushing the pace. That’s what I do every fight, and that’s what I’m going to keep doing, non-stop.

“I don’t give up until I’m out or the referee is jumping in. I keep going to the fight. That’s what’s always going on in my head.”

Rick Glenn def. Artur Rofi by unanimous decision

“It’s the best. When someone talks smack to you like that, and they’re disrespectful, I just try to stay humble. I’m glad I won. I thank God. I thank all my teammates, everyone that’s stuck by me all these years, my wife. I’m very thankful.”
